2024 Immunize WA Awards
The Immunize WA awards celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2024, recognizing clinics that achieve immunization coverage criteria for childhood, adolescents, and now 9- and 10-year-olds for HPV dose initiation.
Nominations now open!
Providers must self-nominate during June 1- July 15, 2024. The 2024 awards will be announced during National Immunization Awareness Month in August.

New award level
One year ago, the Washington Immunization Information System forecasting changed to reflect that 9- and 10-year-olds are due for HPV vaccine. Many clinics have embraced this change and started making strong recommendations to this age group.
To reflect this new recommendation, the Health Plan Partnership, a cooperative alliance of the Department of Health, Health Care Authority, HPV Free Task Force, Within Reach, and all the major health plans in Washington, is excited to announce a new award level for the Immunize WA provider recognition program. This new award level is for dose initiation of HPV vaccine for 9- and 10-year-olds.
Clinics with a rate of 25% or higher for one dose of HPV in this age group will receive a certificate and window cling that honors their efforts with a cancer prevention ribbon.

Email our immunization team for help at immunizewa@doh.wa.gov. We have three options that include continuing education for nurses and medical assistants and/or Maintenance of Certification Part IV for pediatricians and family practitioners.

The Health Plan Partnership, putting together the annual Immunize WA Awards, is a cooperative alliance of the Department of Health (DOH), Health Care Authority, Governor Jay Inslee, and all the major health plans in Washington.
2023 marks the ninth year the Health Plan Partnership has hosted the Immunize Washington Awards. This program recognizes clinics that reach immunization rates of 70 percent or higher in child and adolescent patient populations. View the resources below to learn how to improve immunization rates and become a recognized Immunize WA Awardee in 2024!

What is Immunize Washington?
Immunize Washington is a partnership between public health, health plans and other organizations that aims to:
- Increase immunization rates at the clinic level by using best practice tools and the Washington State Immunization Information System (IIS).
- Support activities to provide on time vaccination to children and adolescents.
- Encourage clinics to measure their immunization rates so they know where they are doing well and areas to improve.
- Engage in immunization quality improvement activities.
- Help Washington meet national goals for child and teen vaccines.
